Not exactly straight out the camera

A very cool inside look at the sometimes mind-numbing detail work and hundreds of interpretive decisions that go into making an image that looks beautiful … and natural.

"Because breaking your camera is only half as stupid as using Instagram…"

Here’s a funny video that tweaks all the Instagram users (and of course I’m one of them):

I don’t think using Instgram means that you’re not a “real” photographer, and I don’t think “real” photographers don’t use Instagram (what a silly thought).

But here’s a thought: what if, in 5 or 10 years, the barriers between vision and execution are even lower? by that I mean, if you’re able to see it, you’ll be able to capture it? if you’re able to imagine it, you’ll be able to do it? … I’m sure there will always be craft associated with photography, and it will always be valued. but I think the separation between “real” photography and … whatever else we’re talking about, will continue to narrow.
